ARound

Overview
The goal of this project was to create and test a prototype where users would be able to purchase their own digital lands and decorate them with NFTs.

Through expert interviews, a customer journey workshop and design work we were able to create a prototype ready to be tested.

Main Highlights

#1

Expert interviews gave us a very good overview about our potential users and it lead to the creation of four personas.

#2

The customer journey workshop aligned the entire team and revealed what the prototype should revolve around.

#3

We created a prototype in Figma that was ready for usability testing.

What is ARound?

ARound is a platform where users are able to rent or buy digital locations all over the world, and decorate them using NFTs through Google Streetview. It also provides a marketplace where users could sell or rent out these locations, and also sell or buy NFTs to decorate these locations.

Expert Interviews

In order to understand more about the project and what is expected from us, we interviewed seven stakeholders. These interviews provided valuable insights about the product, their expectations from the project and extremely valuable information about our users.

Personas

Based on the data gathered from our Expert Interviews, we managed to define four personas.

Customer Journey Workshop

After we identified our personas, it was time to decide on which one of them did we want to focus for our Customer Journey. The decision was made to focus on The Enthusiast persona.

By going through the workshop, we were able to identify a scenario and goals for our persona, after which we were able to build our Customer Journey.

Scenario

The enthusiast persona has found this cool application where can buy cool art NFTs from places in the real world. The enthusiast wants to sign up because is curious to know how the app works and want to try out the functionalities of the app.

Goals

  1. I want to understand the application
  2. I want to create an account easily
  3. I want to connect the wallet quickly and safely
  4. I want to be rewarded by interacting with the app
  5. I want to explore and engage

User flows, Sketches and Lo-Fi Wireframes

After identifying what we wanted to build, it was time to explore different direction on how we can implemenet this. This led to creating multiple possible user flows, paper sketches and some lo-fi wireframes that we could discuss with the client.

The Prototype

Finally, it was time to create a high fidelity prototype that would be ready to be tested. Unfortunately, the project ended early and we were not able to test the prototype with real users.

Final thoughts

This project allowed me to dive deep into a controversial subject. It gave me a good opportunity to learn more about these technologies and to see how they are perceived by people more knowledgeable than me.

I also learned that sometimes it's good to make a decision early and move forward with it, instead of overthinking multiple directions. It's better to test a full feature instead of multiple half-finished features.
